Here’s me guarding and training NBA player Aaron Nesmith. A friend of mine from Charleston, (Davon Gaillard) gave me the chance to work and train with professional basketball players while heading into my sophomore season playing varsity. Aaron at the time was in his pre draft process, and was a projected lottery pick out of Vanderbilt in the 2020 NBA draft. With coaches and scouts in the gym watching all his workouts, everything had to be precise. That day as seen in the picture, for his workout we focused on a lot of live action drills so that he could showcase his scoring and dribbling abilities. Especially since coming out of college being known as a “shooter” to scouts. The workout lasted about 2 hours and there were 3 coaches in the gym and a camera at the time due to covid. However we did live stream the workout with much more NBA personnel watching. Follow the workout, as previously stated Arron would eventually go on the be selected 14 to the Boston Celtics in the 2020 NBA draft. As of now Aaron plays a huge role on the pacers as a role player and is starting to make noise in the league. As for him and I, we obviously can’t and don’t talk everyday but the love is still the same whenever we see each other.
