Radio Report Audio Tuesday March 26, I was given the opportunity to meet with Ellen Zisholtz(pictured below) at the All Star bowling lanes in Orangeburg, Sc. As I spoke with Zisholtz, it was clear on her motives to cover the history or the event of the Orangeburg massacre in 1968 through the renovation of the bowling alley it all took place at. When asked, “What does it mean to refurbish this?” Zisholtz responded “I feel like it’s gonna be something that’s gonna make a difference in the community a difference in the country, and it's gonna last.”

As of right now today, Zisholtz and her crew of workers with correlations to orangeburg and the massacre are working vigorously to pursue the renovation of the alley. I’m speaking to Zisholtz, it was evident just how important the youth is to her cause. Zisholtz feels her cause should be and needs to be aided by the youth of nearby universities like South Carolina State University and even Claflin University. When asked about the importance of youth involvement, Zisholtz exclaimed “I don't think much can happen without young people.”
As time goes on, Zisholtz plans to continue working on the bowling alley with financial worries to be amongst the masses. As we spoke on the financial side of the alley, Zisholtz explained "We own 1/3 of the parking lot." In terms of h ow they plan to work on outside the building with prices going past some millions of dollars. However, in speaking on the interior of the building, Zisholtz explained that 1.8-2 million dollars is the established amount to complete just the interior only.
In covering more and more about the overall resources possible to expand this cause, Zisholtz once again showed her reach to the youth and touched on how important help from the youth would be. "I don't think much can happen without young people." She says while adding the side of social media reach and information saying " I need to do social media."
Ellen Zisholtz gave great insight on this day of communicating and explaining her future plans for the All Star bowling alley. However, she hasn't yet released a distinct date of when the bowling alley will open up. But, with her hard work soon the lanes will be accessible and displayed to all.
