Trent Bryant

Vroom Vroom, Bryant in the room! Trent Bryant (middle left) of SC State University marching band has had quite the tune. That being the ring of his name ever since the young man appeared on the campus website doing his infamous routine to Sexy Red’s “Hellcats Srts”. In which Bryant quoted “ is a regular dance for band”. In his own efforts on the campus of SC State university, Bryant has involved himself in greek life, with Omega Psi Fi fraternity, obviously in band, and Is a drum major. The as Bryant said, and I’m quoting him here “head of the band”.

So how did he find out? Bryant said during an interview in class “ a friend texted me and told me, I saw it and was like look at you boy!”. Bryant’s response to finding out was hilarious because we all as students at SC State would react the same way! However for Bryant this new attention has only increased his ability in his craft. Since being posted little over 2 months ago on our school website, Bryant has continued to play in the band and plans on graduating in December of 2025.

It was a pleasure meeting and interviewing Trent Bryant, and may many more beats be made by his drum!

Snow at SC State

A snow day in orangeburg? As crazy as it sounds is as true as it was. With temperatures dropping to around 28 degrees, our residents both in Orangeburg and at South Carolina State University got to experience some cool weather!

Here’s another picture of the snow! As you can see walking was equivalent to ice skating. I even had to wear boots to ensure my safety walking to the cafe for breakfast and dinner on campus of SC State.

Here’s a great look outside my residence hall of Mitchell. As you can see the ice on the roads and sidewalk were no joke. Black ice and hard fall awaited many as they walked on campus to and from the cafe.

More snow to see

Overall, the event of seeing snow in such an uncommon area like South Carolina was a blessing. It was great to experience the falls, the numbness in your hands, and the various snow balls thrown. This event served as a viewpoint of how I see this new year going for myself. As the snow is something we normally don’t see, I plan on being the same for the world. Something uncommon and phenomenal.
