The proper Destinations

As summer approaches I thought it’d be nice to give input. Input on the areas around the globe I believe are the top 5 vacation destinations. Or in my terms “the proper destination’s”

5. Cancun, Mexico

Coming in at number 5 is Cancun,Mexico.

This travel destination is affordable and unique. With trips starting at just under 500 dollars for an all out expense via TripAdvisor.com

With a great culture and nice views this is a proper destination

4. Maui, Hawaii

Aloha! At number 4 is the illustrious Maui, Hawaii. This island apart of the U.S. is centered around its beautiful beaches and sights. The aura is real.

Prices for trips in Maui are expensive at 2-5 thousand dollars. However who’s counting when you’re having fun.

3. Paris, France

Wanna go to Paris?

As if, who wouldn’t. Coming in at number 3 is Paris, France.

This is a great proper destination for summer vacation due to its history, beauty, nightlife, and more.

With prices starting at 13 hundred dollars. You can enjoy an illustrious trip for a cheap price.

2. Bora Bora, French Polynesian

Coming in at number 2 is Bora Bora of the French Polynesian islands in the Pacific Ocean.

With views being shadowed by a massive volcano and beautiful waters, this location is known in my book as a proper destination

With its resort centers on water. You will live on top of the ocean literally waking on water.

Prices start at just under 5 thousand dollars a person. A bit pricey, but worth every penny.

 1. Nassau, Bahamas

At number one and the most proper destination on my list, is Nassau,Bahamas.

This beautiful island is filled with affordable vibes and great views. And I’m going there this summer!!!

With prices staring at about a thousand dollars, this luxury is affordable and worth everything.

I hope you enjoyed my top 5 proper destinations, but if you’ll excuse me I’ve got some packing to do!

After school ponders? With Ariana Pinder

Ariana Pinder (far left) is a spring 2025 graduating senior from South Carolina State University. As her graduation approaches we spoke quickly on her aspirations after school.

She says “As of right now, the plan is to go to grad school.” Which is interesting due to Pinder’s love to filmmaking as well.

As she followed my question of what she had planned after school also speaking about wanting to film. Calling it intimidating but also  her “dream”.

As a friend and future alumni of S.C. State university I wish Ari the best and hope to watch many of her films in the future and thank her for this opportunity!

The Freeman

To the far right is Jada Freeman, a future sports journalist who I had the opportunity to interview.

I asked Freeman, due to our relationship of being students at S.C. State University. “What’s your favorite sport?”

Freeman replied “Football” with no hesitation

Showing her love for the sport and passion behind her aspirations of becoming apart of Public Relations for sports specifically football

This is Freeman’s goal after she graduates college and with her passion for the sport I soon know we’ll see her on the sidelines!

Kiki’s Chicken N Waffles

Here’s a look inside the fried chicken diner known as Kiki’s Chicken N Waffles

After a day at church visiting home from school. My family and I decided to dine in a at a place I’ve never tried before.

Here’s a look at the front of their menu. With fried chicken and waffles being the main dish. I was shocked to find what I ended up ordering. *look close to the bottom

Now here is where I found my side the menu. The back. With the soul food selection at the top I was set for the day.

Get ready for this masterpiece of a plate!

So I got the soul food special plate. The price was just under 20 dollars at 18.38 after tax. I added along a sweet tea to complement my plate of Lima beans, cornbread, Mac n cheese, and 4 fried chicken wings.

Here’s my uncle killing his order of wings and fries.

Kiki’s Chicken N waffles was amazing and I’ll definitely be back!

The college bodybuilder

The college bodybuilder, aka Justin Fleming is a 21-year old junior at S.C. State University. I’m our interview we spoke on Flemings love for fitness and body building.

While being a Community Assistant(CA) we spoke on his development of his tourney in campus. I asked him “Coming in to college, what was your passion live for fitness compared to where it is now?” He answered “It wasn’t as high as it is now, it was more so just something to do and have time last by.” “You know when you’re not really doing anything you’re bored.” Fleming on his feelings of fitness in his life.

He also spoke on his past athletic history playing football to what he describes, “ I played all around the field.” For his versatility on the field and with his body.

We also touched on the importance of eating and what you need to target when eating. Those being words like “protein” and “carbs and fats” for gaining good weight. Which stuck out to me in my own fitness journey.

Later on in the interview, we spoke about any influence an athlete or celebrity has had motivating Flemings journey.

He was quick to reply with his two answers “Saquan Barkley and Mark Wahlberg.” Justin also spoke on his favorite workout to do while in the gym which he says is his “chest”.

I touched on when Justin decided to make lifting a daily routine. He answered with his past history with football and how the practice schedule during the season gave him a routine and he just kept following it after high school. “I wanna say after graduation and my freshman year of college because that’s when I saw the changes that occurred. I wondered how I would look if I actually tried.” He also touched on his use of creatine and protein powder.

My last question for Fleming was “Is there any piece of advice that you would give to someone starting their own workout journey?” “ A lot of people think when they come in the gym they’re going to be judge.” “Don’t worry nobody judging you.” He also added “ If you have the option to lift with somebody, don’t take it for granted, but make sure you’re actually working out and not playing around.” “It’s gonna push you to do better”. I thanked Justin Fleming for his time doing this interview and the recording is below to hear
